My Personal Testimony
I want to share my incredibly special, personal testimony with you. I’ve been on a journey that has completely transformed my life, and I hope my story can inspire and motivate some of you who may be going through tough times or struggling with your health or in any area of life.
While this struggle has been for the past few years, A year ago, I was in a place mentally and physically that I hadn’t been in for years. On the surface, I seemed fine, but deep down, I had lost my motivation and my energy, and it felt like I was losing my passion to do things I knew I was purposed and called to do. It was a daily struggle to find the motivation to do certain tasks, and I found myself withdrawing from the things I once loved, like my passion projects and side businesses that fund my lifestyle.
Not only did I lack energy and stamina, but I also struggled with brain fog; my mental clarity was off, as well as low attention span, losing my train of thought mid-conversation. In addition to that, my joint pain and body aches made me feel older than I was. I was carrying extra weight and approaching the most pounds I had ever weighed. On top of that, I had been dealing with lower to mid-area back pain for over a decade, and I had developed a bad acid reflux problem for the past 4 years. If I ate a late dinner or meal, I would wake up out of my sleep feeling like I was about to throw up. My doctor tried to put me on Statin Meds because my cholesterol was so high, and she told me once they were that high, they never came down, and I would need to take medicine for the rest of my life. I knew it was time for a change, not just for my physical health but for my overall well-being.
I also wanted to strengthen my relationship with God, with myself, with family, and with food. And I never realized how much my health was a key component in achieving these goals.
I remember 7 months ago while in the bathroom, I was looking in the mirror, and I began to say to myself, “I don’t like what I see.” As I’m repeating this, I’m also saying that something has to change.
So, at that moment, I made a decision not to eat meat and refined sugary products for 30 days, and that was the start of my slow transition to a whole food plant-based diet. I eliminated sugar, meat, and processed foods from my diet. And let me tell you, within a week, I started feeling shifts in every aspect of my life. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m here to share the joy and transformation it brought into my life.
I started at 234lbs, and now I’m at 179lbs. I have lost over 50 pounds, and while I’m not getting any younger, I feel better than I have in years. My mental clarity has improved significantly, allowing me to focus on my goals and passions. I have the energy and stamina to pursue the things I’m passionate about, and the pain in my joints has dramatically diminished. I’m moving and feeling better than ever before.
My gut health and digestive system are functioning exceptionally; my weight is under control, and my relationships have flourished. My connection with God has deepened, and my interactions with others have become more meaningful.
All of this positive change has come from changing the way I eat, think, move, and feel because I incorporated a whole food plant-based lifestyle. I share this message with you not to boast but as inspiration. You don’t have to give up on your dreams, and your health doesn’t have to be dictated by your current state or your doctor’s diagnosis.
